1st trail ride away from home. He did great!

We went down in a really fast creek, after 5" of rainfall last night. Cochise is very willing and level headed.  Check out the gallery photos. Awesome!

I took Cochise to Warrensburg Rodeo tonight and ponyed him around and in arena, then rode him in parking lot in the dark. He was bug eyed at first cause everyone was shaking out lariot loops and running around like crazy. Then he calmed down. Kids even running behind him! <~Diana Thebo~>

Cochise turn 360 degree on a pallet top without a halter.  Check out the gallery pictures.

Yee Haw, first ride down the road without being ponyed, and we trotted!!

Trail ride through the woods, ponying out the driveway first, down the rode, and then once they stepped into the wood Natasha handed the rope back to Diana and they were riding free.  Cochise rode great for his first time not being being ponied, even to the lead a few times. check out the gallery.

Sunset ride and the temp was cool, couldn't ask for a more beautiful ride and Bryan's cam got part of us.  We'll have to learn to ride closer. :) It is Diana on Niko up front and me on Cochise being ponyied.

Tonight, I drove to Diana's without a horse to ride with her.  I rode Niko for a while and ponyied Cochise in the arena, then she ponyied me in the arena.  Oh, then we left the arena.  Diana ponyied Cochise out on the open trail, through the woods, over the logs, up hills, down hills, and I got to ride him...let me tell you I am on cloud NINE!  He is an awesome horse and I didn't have a worry at all, I did wear my helmet too, but not a worry. Diana has done great with him and despooking.  We even stopped on the trail and changed out Bryan's deer camera chip, so hopefully we got pictures to download later.

I finally got on him. I've had Angela and April up and ponyed them but had not been up myself. After a few minutes of April ponying me we took the lead rope off and I got to ride him. He turned, stopped and backed! Yeah!

We decided to be brave and stand at the edge of the Hwy and get the Semi"s to honk. After strange looks from several drivers, we had one that got the hint and he laid on the air horn. Cochise just stood there. We also took him to the neighbors and they came out and made all over him and he was so calm.. Later we went to the round pen and April stood in the stirrups for me and he did great. I hope to be riding him this week. Check out the gallery for more pictures from today.

Today is the first time Cochise has been ponyed.  He did so well that we didn't do the usual day or two in the round pen, then the arena before we heade out.  He is so level headed that we round pen, arena and then out to the trails, creek and hay field all in one day.  We even trotted, cantered and visited the neighbor and his helper with their saw running and strangers petting him.  He took it all in stride.  Whew!  What a big learning experience for one day. Someone local needs to buy him.  I'd help them get him to what ever level they need after the EMM.  Anyone interested in meeting him and finding him out more info about adopting him, contact me.  He is going to be an awesome, big horse!
